Often times as we age we see an increase in the number of irregularities in the skin. A reddened complexion, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots or large pores are all signs of the skin's changing due to time and exposure to sun over the years. The relatively new technology of IPL Laser treatment, however, allows patients to treat imperfections of the skin safely and effectively with just a few office visits.

Also known as Fotofacials, IPL Photofacial treatment was originally designed to counter the natural aging and damage skin receives from sun exposure. An effective treatment for Rosacea and other skin conditions, IPL lasers have performed millions of procedures worldwide. Able to target damaged areas without affecting surrounding tissue, it is known to be very safe.

IPL Photofacials work by stimulating the skin's natural capacity to produce collagen when exposed to light energy as with that found in IPL light. Collagen softens the appearance of aging skin, and over the course of several treatments, skin's healthy, youthful glow can be restored in large part while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

In a normal IPL treatment regimen, 3 - 5 sessions are necessary that last anywhere from 15 - 30 minutes. Although not a serious source of pain, you can request a topical anesthetic if needed. Bruising and redness can occur as a result of treatment but are generally mild.

A single treatment will reduce the size of pores, cause sunspots to fade, shrink fine lines and wrinkles, and lessen the appearance of acne scars. Over the course of a full treatment program, you will see a marked improvement in your complexion.
